Happy 145th anniversary to my great-great-great grandparents, Yehoshua Zev and Mira Lefand! Kind of.
Mira Halpern married Yehoshua Zev Lefand on April 28, 1871, in Nezhin, Russian Empire (now Nizhyn, Ukraine). So it's their 145th anniversary, right?
Well, not really. At this point in time, the Russian Empire was still using the Julian calendar (and did until 1918). So April 28, 1871 on the Julian calendar is May 10, 1871 in the calendar now in use worldwide.
So even though my great-great-great grandparents were married April 28, 1871, their 145th anniversary is still 12 days away!
