If you've been anywhere near the Ukrainian genealogy community in the last few weeks, you've heard about archival.name (which I wrote about here earlier this week). I virtually sat down with its creator, Luke Rothman, to find out where it came from, how it works, and what comes next. I'm a huge fan of Luke's work; a record I found on the site last night made a 99-year-old Holocaust survivor cry.

Incredible New Ukrainian/Eastern Poland Genealogy Research
I've been playing around with a new site that has used AI to extract names and allows for searching capabilities of those names. And it's been incredible. My grandfather had told me the names of his aunts, and one such name was Rivka. I've had her name on my tree for decades, but I knew nothing more about her. But now I do--including the fact that she was actually a half-aunt, so I've had the wrong mother listed for her since the last century.
